WEEK 6!

On this Saturday July 25th we have a new topic for the socias, it was Etiquette. We arrived to the cooperative at 10 o’clock, we have a little problem because the streets were clothes of Guayaquil’s parade.
We called to the socias and they were waiting for us. One of the socias, Mirella helps us and they said us how we can get their going away for another way.
Finally we get there; there were socias waiting for us, and we sawed new faces we like that.

We begging the training; we taught the socias the correct ways to introduce others and themselves, the presentation formulas and the way they must have when they are presented. Also the priorities at the moment of introduce two people according to the sex, age and professional status. And finally we end our Etiquette training teaching them the correct sitting posture.

To make more interesting the training and to confirm if they have learn our advice we make some activities, were the participants have to apply the rules of Etiquette. They make group of three and we put little cases, to see if they use in the correct form the rules of the etiquette.

I felt very good because the socias were really happy. They told us that this training is very important for their because sometimes they don’t know what to do, or how behave in the meeting they they have. I can relate this training with some concepts of the class like: Generating Knowledge, because I want to resolve the problems and necessities of the socias.

WEEK 5!

For this Saturday we went to the cooperative with an new English topic. I was very worried by the socias by if they were not remembering the training spent last English Saturday.I take a surprise they were practiced the whole week and they were remembering everything.

The new topic was related to introductions: Nice to meet you, Nice to meet you too, what your name, I am. So we taught them the pronunciation, how to write, their Spanish translation. We make some activities, we pass in front of the class with one socia and we make a dialogue with all the new learned phrases. At the beginning it was really difficult because they learn one thing but they forgot another thing. But we repeat a lot of time the activities of dialogue, and they don’t confused any more.

It makes me happy to see the desire of learning that the socias have. I can related this training with the class with loftiness, because I really can make an important change and contributing in the experience of the socias, because they don’t know nothing of English and they wanted to know the basic of English, and now they knows so I really feel happy.

WEEK 4!

On this saturday july 11th, we went to the Cooperativa Detodas to inroduce the socias a new topic, this was our third training!! but there was a problem! They were not remembering the pronunciation of the words given in the past training, and also there were new socias; so we make a review of all the last training, in order that now they still have it more clearly, we did activities in which they understanding what they were saying in spanish but they pronuence in English.

The new socias were very concentrated because they were absent last Saturday. We decide to leave clear what we trained last Saturday. I really enjoy making this! becuase i laught with the socias and i know that im doing something productive for each of them.

I can relate this training with some concepts i have seen in the class is mutualism, becuase also i help and develop my self helping others.

WEEK 3!

On this Saturday july 4th, this was our second training, we begin our English training at 9:30 am, there were only 4 socias, I felt sad because in our first training there were like 15 socias.
The topic of our second training was “the presentation” hello, and my name is. We used a book called APRENDAMOS given by the Municipality of Guayaquil.
We decide to began with the presentations, because is something basic that everyone need to know. I think that because there were only 4 socias I would be easy, but it was very difficult, because they didn’t know anything of English, the pronunciation for them was really difficult.

We make many activities, so they could practice what we have taught them. I was very proud of the socias because they make excellent.
Every word we write on the board, the translation in Spanish and the pronunciation, for a better understanding.
I hope that they remember until the next Saturday, so we can continue with other topics. I was very exciting about our first training in English!
I can relate this training with diffusing knowledge becuase we want to share our knowledge with the socias, and im happy to do that because im halping other.

COGNITIVE SURPLUS

I’m agree with the video, almost everyone are passive and consumers in the free time. We do not realize that we are losing our potentialities and qualities. If we use our free time in useful things, that will help us grow as individuals, also it helps for our own development and also for the society development.

This video makes me reflects a lot; I don’t use to the maximum my free time in productive things. I have to stop being a person sometimes passive and consumers. Instead of doing nothing and only sleep, internet, etc. I have to start to do productive things for my own development.Off course this video help me appreciate the social action I’m doing in the cooperative Detodas. Before the video I think I was only contribuing with my society, now I know that im doing something productive for my self im producer and active person.

WEEK 2!

We went to de Cooperativa De todas on june 13th, we arrived there at 9:30 am, when we arrived the socias were already there. there were like 15 socias.

My friends and i were very nervous, this was our first capacitation that was about custumer service. we make some activities, so the topic coulb be very well understanded.

Firts we make an introduction of us in order that the socias knowed our objective there and our names. The first activity we made was a puzzle, were the socias had to make the puzzle with the pieces we gave them. each piece has a question that they have to answer, in order to engage with the topic.

them we showed them the slides we have prepare about internal and external custumer; for a better understanding and to be sure they understand the slides. we make a activity were they have to represent a problem, one have to make about internal custumer and the other external custumer. i was very happy because the representations wer excellent, they understood the diffrences.

Finally we showed them other slides with tips of how they can improve the internal and the external custumer services in their bussines, we give them something to eat and drink at the end.

i have to said that i was very happy about our first capacitacion because they understood the topic and they like it.

I can relate this we this class with learning cycle, becuase we have to study the socias situation ans needs in order to decide what topic was the best for our fist capacitation.

SOCIAL ACTION. FIRST SATURDAY

Our first time, doing social action in the “cooperativa Detodas” was very exciting for me, and also very interesting. We went on Saturday June 6, at 9 o clock. Since the socias where getting into their places, we started with a presentation of us, we explained our objective of going to the cooperative Detodas, They also presented and told us their experience. Some of the stories were really sad, but what is more exciting is to see how little by little they overcome, and to see the desire that they have to learn more every day, that make me feel very happy knowing that there are people who struggle every day to get ahead no matter what little resources they have. Also the socias told us that they are very happy to belong to the ‘’cooperative Detodas’’ because the cooperative has given them the opportunity to help them go ahead and also the cooperetiva has taught them to know value each one. Las socias commented us that the capacitation given by the cooperativa are very good they don’t lose any.
After hearing the experiences of all the socias, we asked what topics they want to learn in order to improve their lives and their business. They told us they wanted to learn about customer service, computer, English, marketing and etiquette. I am happy to hear everything they want to learn. I’m sure we will do a good job.
The objective in this meeting was to know about the socias, listen to their experience and also to know their interest and detect their needs in order to help them to have a better business.The purpose of going every Saturday is to help the socias and also because I feel good helping them, we know that are going to advantage this opportunity and we also.

DIET FOR A NEW AMERICA

Why have I asked you to watch videos about diet in order to begin to explore this topic?

In synthesis in the whole video is the truth of things. The videos are an introduction to this unit. In the videos talks about eating habits of many people, that is related with the unit “Investigation of the truth”.

This unit is about investigation of truth “is to guide an individual’s twofold purpose”, which means that individuals has to think in the interests and needs of the society not only in their own interest.

What relationships can you find between the videos and the reading?

The relationships between the videos and the reading are that the human has two aspects the material and the spiritual, the material.
The material makes consumer takes things to survive that were what was happening in the video that people cow meat; and in the spiritual humans can take conscience of nature and the environment which leads to decisions like the video that some people took the decision not to eat meat.

The unit talks about searching truth as purpose of life. Then the relationship is that in the video and in the unit the truth and the emancipation of that truth is out, the problem is that we do not want to see this truth, we ignore it, and we don’t do anything for searching it, for fear of changing our ways of life or person

What do these relationships imply about our role as individuals in our society?

These relationships imply about our role as individuals in our society that the decisions of every human being has implications for the world, and that the decisions we must make every human being should be more attached to the spiritual. Each of us is responsible for what we choose in our lifes.

SOCIETY AND THE ROLE OF THE INDIVIDUAL

WHAT DO I THINK ABOUT THE CLASS?

Before this class, I had no idea what was about this subject, I imagine many things but I never thought it would be so interesting and so useful for me. This class has taught me how important it is to help people, not just thinking about our self, also the importance of working together to form a better society. It’s time to change my way of thinking.

WHAT PART OF THIS LEARNING RETRIBUTING AND SOCIETY HAS THE MOST DIFFICULTY BEEING FOR ME?

My way of thinking was very different before this class. Now I know that the problems that my country has are not just government's problem, we are all responsible of it. We need to start thinking about what is best for others, instead of thinking our individuals problems or interest, it will permit to our society to reach in a maturity stage.

WHAT DO I WANT TO LEARN OR TALK ABOUT?
I want to know how abortion harms society.

SOCIAL ACTION ''COOPERATIVA DE AHOROO Y CREDITO DETODAS''

We went to the cooperativa de ahorro y credito Detodas, the last thursday april 30, 2009,we interviewed 2 people.

The first person we interviewed was Marisella Perez, she have 23 years and she live in Las Malbinas. she feel very good to see that she was capable of being productive and able to grow as a person and to help economically in their home, so she is maximize this opportunity. she knew this cooperativa through her mother. Marisella takes 1 year and a half in this cooperative and she is very happy. The reason to continue in this cooperative is that they give them good capacitation and give them some benefits. what motivates Marisella of this cooperative is that they teach them every day to be better women, teach them values. her business is selling clothes, she told me that is a good bussines and she can pay all her debts at day.

The second person we interviewed was Vanessa Burgos she feel very happy to belong to this cooperativa. The reason to invest in this cooperativa is that Detodas provide her credit facilities, they give her capacitation to learn what bussines she can put. She knew this cooperativa along time ago, but she takes 2 years being part of this cooperativa. What motivates vanessa to continue in this cooperativa are the desire to overcome, the capacitations she received and the travels she make with the cooperativa. She started with a bazar selling cell phone cards. now it has been able to buy a photocopier and also sell Oriflame. she feels very good.

I am very happy to interview these people. they are people with few resources that have all the desire to overcome, to succeed, to fight evey day for the best. As they told me: every day we are learning to come more women. I am glad to know that there are cooperatives that help people grow as a person.

ralated my experience of going to the cooperativa detodas with what i have learn in class, i can compare with discourse. that womens are part of a community, they share ideas to solve their problems. they give to the socias capacitacions, they motivate them to improve themself, an to be a better women.
